On February 2nd, on World Wetlands Day, we celebrated the beauty and crucial importance of these ecosystems for our planet. Although in Cayos Cochinos, we may not have wetlands per se, we take pride in our mangroves, which play a fundamental role in the defense and protection of our coasts. 🌿🌊
These vibrant ecosystems not only act as natural barriers against extreme weather events but also serve as a home to a diversity of birds and other animals. By protecting them, we are ensuring the future of our biodiversity and contributing to the fight against climate change.
